Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an inpatient Stroke Rehab unit requiring an active MA RN license and experience with EPIC documentation.
Details
- Work on a 30-bed inpatient adult rehab unit with private rooms specializing in stroke and brain injury care
- May occasionally care for patients with other neuro diagnoses (MS, Parkinson's) or musculoskeletal disorders requiring rehab (post-op hip, knee)
- 13-week assignment
- Evening shift schedule (3:00pm-11:30pm), 32 hours per week
- Four 8-hour shifts including every other weekend
- Floating to other units required as needs arise
- EPIC charting system used for documentation
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required (Nursys and Board of Nursing verification required, no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
- Current BLS certification required (AHA only)
- EPIC documentation experience required
- Competency required in PICC line care and blood draws, IV antibiotics, TPN, and tube feeding (NGT, G-tube, GJ-tube)
- Experience with EKG, wound care (wound vac and simple dressings), foley catheter and intermittent catheterization, and bladder irrigation required
- Experience with trach care, blood transfusions, ostomy care, drain management (JP drains), and use of restraints required
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to adult rehab patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, and related neuro or musculoskeletal conditions
- Deliver a wide range of clinical interventions including wound care, catheter management, tube feeding, and drain care
- Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Boston to qualify for standard travel rate; candidates within that radius are considered local and receive a reduced rate
- Time is tracked using UKG/Kronos
