- Unit has 10 beds with patient ratios of 1:3–4 for Pediatrics and 1:5 for MST
- Pediatric patients include respiratory illnesses (RSV, influenza, COVID), seizures, dehydration, appendectomy, and failure to thrive (med-surg acuity level only — no feeding tubes, trachs, or vents)
- Adult MST patients include surgical cases (total hip/knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, exploratory lap) and medical cases (MRSA, C-diff, COPD, pneumonia, COVID, chest pain/telemetry)
- High-flow oxygen administration for stabilization and BiPAP management for stable adult patients with chronic conditions
- Telemetry monitoring present for adult MST patients; Remote Monitor Techs available, but RNs must be able to read their own telemetry strips; bedside monitors available for pediatric patients
- Cerner EMR
- 12-hour day shifts (0700–1930)
- Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday for day shift)
- First to float; floating required to MCU or MST unit for adult patients, and to the birthing unit for mom-baby couplet care (L&D float available for those with L&D experience)
- Low-census standby rotation in place
- Holiday rotation required
Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
- Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS — pending certifications not accepted
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Adult Med-Surg Telemetry (MST) experience required
- Experience working with pediatric patients required
- Ability to care for both adult and pediatric patient populations
- Must pass the Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) within two attempts prior to offer confirmation

- Valid driver's license required
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care for a combined pediatric and adult MST population — traveler must be prepared to care for more adult patients than pediatric patients at times, depending on census
