Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an inpatient Stroke Rehab unit requiring an active MA RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Details

30-bed adult inpatient rehab unit with private rooms specializing in stroke and brain injury care
May occasionally care for other neuro diagnoses such as MS and Parkinson's, as well as musculoskeletal rehab patients (post-op hip, knee)
13-week assignment
32 hours per week on a rotating evening/night schedule
Weekday shifts are 7p-7a (12 hours)
Every other weekend shift is 3p-11:30p (8 hours)
Uses EPIC for charting

Requirements

Active MA RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
BLS certification required (AHA preferred; Red Cross accepted at most locations, Salem accepts AHA only)
EPIC charting experience required
Competency required in PICC line care and blood draws, IV antibiotics, TPN, and tube feeding (NGT, G-tube, GJ-tube)
Experience required in EKG monitoring, wound care including wound vac and simple dressings, foley catheter and intermittent catheterization, and bladder irrigation
Experience required in trach care, blood transfusion administration, ostomy care, and drain management (JP drains)
Experience applying and monitoring restraints required
Primary source verification of RN license required within 30 days of start date, with both NURSYS and Board of Nursing verification required

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care to adult rehab patients recovering from stroke and brain injury
Deliver a wide range of clinical interventions including wound care, catheter management, and enteral feeding support
Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility, with a reduced rate applying to local candidates
Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
RTO must be identified at the time of consideration
Timekeeping is managed through UKG/Kronos
