Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a Magnet-designated, Level III Trauma teaching hospital, with Epic/Excellian experience required and a 4x10 day shift schedule.

Details

  • Works in a Radiology department that encompasses Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Pre/Post (Phase 2 Recovery) care
  • Serves both inpatient and outpatient populations
  • Patient ratio is 1:5
  • Procedures include biopsies, tube/line/drain placements, lytics, thrombectomies, liver embolizations, and neuro, body, and vascular IR cases
  • Provides moderate sedation for CT, US, and IR cases; administers anxiolysis for exams and medications for nuclear medicine patients; monitors pacemaker patients during MRI
  • Equipment used includes Air-Pal for safe patient movement in IR rooms, ceiling lifts in CT rooms, and NK monitors with EtCO2 monitoring
  • Charts using Excellian/Epic; Epic experience is required
  • Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (7:00–18:30 window)
  • Occasional weekend and on-call requirements (on-call participation based on ability)
  • No floating within the department required
  • Block scheduling is not available
  • Short-term acute care hospital setting with 672 staffed beds and Magnet, Teaching, and Level III Trauma designations

Requirements

  • Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology or applicable specialty nursing experience
  • Epic/Excellian EMR experience required
  • 1 supervisor reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include prep and recovery of procedural patients, moderate sedation administration, MRI pacemaker monitoring, medication administration for nuclear medicine, and support for anesthesia cases
  • Hospital scrubs are provided
  • Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are accepted for this Radiology position as an exception to the standard radius rule
  • Candidates who previously worked at this health system as permanent staff or per diem must have been away for at least 3 months since their last shift
  • Pre-start online modules are required before the first day of the assignment
  • RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred
