Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a 13-week travel contract at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in California, requiring 2 years of NICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• NICU position within a 377-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• Weekend requirement equivalent to every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) plus 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule
• Occasional floating to nursery or baby transition nurse role may be required during high delivery volumes — responsibilities include routine newborn care, vitals, head-to-toe assessment, skin-to-skin, breastfeeding support, and routine labs
• NICU nurses are not required to attend deliveries
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
• Free parking available on-site
• Local candidates are accepted
• Block scheduling is available at manager's discretion

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Active professional license required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Scrubs may be any color
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
