Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Respiratory Care Unit night shift position requiring 3 years of critical care experience with trauma and neuro background.
Details
- High acuity stepdown ICU setting within the Respiratory Care Unit
- Patient population includes acute and chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Floating required as needed
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Travel pairs will not be considered
Requirements
- Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required via AHA
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
- Trauma and neuro experience required
- Charge RN, SICU, MICU, trauma, and stroke experience preferred
- Degree required from an accredited school, or a degree from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing with 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing support to high acuity respiratory patients requiring ventilator management
- Facility is a smoke-free environment
- Local candidates within a 60-mile radius will be considered at a lower pay rate
- Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools will not be accepted
- Must pass a basic arrhythmia assessment, required for critical care areas, with 100% accuracy on lethal rhythms
- If a retake of the dysrhythmia exam is needed, candidates must achieve an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% on lethal rhythm sections, and 83% on all other sections within 24 hours
- Proof of vaccination status is required with no declinations allowed
