Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an academic medical center, requiring NRP and AWHONN intermediate certification with cross-training to Mother/Baby and potential NICU float coverage.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit in a large academic medical center setting
• Facility handles approximately 2,000 deliveries annually across 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
• Patient population includes both low-risk (including certified nurse midwife-managed) and high-risk (maternal fetal medicine) cases
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Cross-training to Mother/Baby is expected, with potential float to NICU (feeders/growers)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday required
• EMR: Epic experience required

Requirements

• Active VA RN license or compact license required; VA license pending will be accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Driver's license and Social Security card copies required for consideration

Additional Information

• OB OR roles require both circulate and scrub experience
• Up to 40 hours of RTO available per 13-week contract
• No radius rule — local candidates are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must allow 12 months to pass before returning as a traveler
• Required certifications must be provided for consideration
