Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring float coverage across a multi-campus health system, with night shift availability and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- 13-week travel contract in a hospital Med/Surg setting
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend shifts required, averaging approximately one weekend shift per week
- Float required to all campus locations including a Level 2 trauma center, a 36-bed Level 4 trauma center, and two critical access hospitals (15-bed and 12-bed facilities)
- May be assigned as a primary RN in any Med/Surg department, as a 1:1 observer in any clinical department, or to the ED to care for boarding Med/Surg patients
- No scheduled on-call shifts, though standby placement is possible
- Patient population includes COPD, stroke, total joint, sepsis, colorectal surgery, bariatric surgery, pneumonia, trauma, altered mental status, renal failure, bowel obstruction, oncology, and withdrawal cases
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active Oregon (OR) RN license required — no pending licenses accepted
- Current BLS certification required; NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Experience with the patient populations listed (e.g., stroke, sepsis, surgical, oncology) expected
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — proof of address required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are generally not accepted; exceptions may be made for candidates with 3–5 years of experience
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract — all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- A full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required for consideration
