Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Cath Lab position requiring sedation experience and on-call availability for a 13-week travel contract in Wisconsin.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in a Cardiac Cath Lab with 2 suites/labs
• Average of 6 cases per day including coronary, IR, and vascular procedures (no EP performed at this location)
• RNs are responsible for sedation, monitoring, and circulating cases — scrubbing is not required
• Cath Lab Techs handle scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating duties
• Charting system is Cerner (transitioning to Epic); Merge is also used
• Schedule is Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
• On-call required Monday–Thursday from 5:00 PM–6:30 AM, and every 4th weekend (Friday–Sunday, 6:30 AM–6:30 AM)
• 30-minute call response time required
• Holiday on-call coverage required as needed
• Occasional floating to 1:1 sitter coverage
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license (must be active by start date)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (both AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab RN experience required
• Sedation experience and knowledge of reversal agents required
• Experience with cardiac drips and cardiac medications required
• 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience

Additional Information

• RNs administer sedation, monitor patients, and circulate cases throughout procedures
• The facility is on STEMI divert approximately 10 days per month due to cardiology coverage limitations, and IR call coverage is also limited to 10 days per month with a single IR provider
• Hospital-provided scrubs in light blue
• Orientation includes CBT modules to be completed within the first week, along with an orientation binder sign-off
• Candidates who have previously worked for this health system as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their consideration date
• Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a reduced pay rate
