Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital inpatient rehab position requiring a minimum of 1 year of OT experience and active IN state licensure.
Details
- Inpatient acute care hospital setting within a rehab team of 19 professionals
- Patients span all acuity levels from ICU to progressive care units
- Diagnoses include CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, Parkinson's disease, and ambulation impairments
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00–16:30)
- Schedule is Monday–Friday with one weekend day per month
- Charting performed in Cerner
Requirements
- Active Indiana state OT license required; license required if applicable
- NBCOT certification required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA and RQI accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of OT experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Cerner EMR experience required
- 2 supervisor references required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Evaluate patients, develop and follow plans of care including ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities to improve function
- Assess and make recommendations for discharge disposition on a daily basis
- Travelers may be required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
- Royal blue scrubs and black shoes are required
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Indiana residents are considered local candidates and are accepted at a modified pay package for this Allied position
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the facility must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Current or past travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within the health system must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility — 90 days for out-of-state residents and 180 days for in-state residents
