Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN - OR Circulator for a day-shift position in Cape Girardeau, MO, requiring at least 1 year of neuro-specific OR experience and proficiency with the DaVinci Xi robotic system.

- Hospital-based Operating Room setting in Cape Girardeau, MO
- Primary focus on Neuro surgery with additional cases including General, Urology, GYN, and Orthopedic surgery (including scopes and arthroplasty)
- Surgical patient population
- Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts per week with a limit of 3 Fridays or Mondays off in a 6-week schedule
- On-call required approximately every 6–7 days with rotating weekend call; scheduled late shifts (not call) are also required as needed
- No floating required
- No weekend hours
- Equipment used includes DaVinci Xi robot, Hana Table, Arthrex tower, and Beach Chair positioning
- EMR: Epic
Requirements
- Active MO RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS certification from AHA required (no other providers accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of recent neuro-specific OR circulating experience required
- Experience with DaVinci Xi robotic surgery required
- Experience with Hana Table, Arthrex tower, and Beach Chair positioning required
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
Additional Information
- The circulating RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating perioperative patient care while serving as a patient advocate throughout all surgical phases
- Flexibility across a variety of surgical case types is expected
- Hospital-provided scrubs are worn in the OR; black scrubs are required and no other colors are acceptable
- Flu vaccination is required for all travelers between November 1 and April 1; exemptions must be client-approved
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but are subject to a reduced bill rate
- Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, they must separate from the facility for at least 1 year or transfer to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documentation of scheduled renewal is provided
- The facility is a 244-bed hospital serving over 600,000 people across 22 counties in Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois
