Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU Float RN for a 26-week travel contract in Portland, ME, requiring at least 3 years of ICU experience and a commitment to 75% weekend shifts.
Details
- Float pool position rotating across Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CTICU based on experience
- May also float to Intermediate Care (IMC) units within the organization
- Patient population includes sedated, intubated, and pressor-dependent ICU patients; high-complexity cases such as CRRT are not expected
- Patient ratios are 1:2 in ICU settings and 1:3 in IMC settings
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM; night shift coverage also available (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- 75% weekend shifts required
- No on-call responsibilities
- EMR: Epic
- 26-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maine (ME) or a valid Compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of ICU experience required
- BLS certification required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- 2 professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must be flexible with assignments and may receive multiple different unit assignments within a single shift
- Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this history
- Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (including residents of Maine or New Hampshire) are considered local and are subject to a different pay structure; local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
- Facility may float staff between facilities within a 25-mile radius as needed
- Use of AirPods, laptops, and cell phones on the unit is prohibited
- Travel pairs or groups are not accepted for this position
- Scrubs required; open-toed shoes (including Crocs), jeans, and clothing with large logos or profanity are not permitted
