Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Step-Down/Med-Surg Overflow position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel experience.

• Step-down and Med-Surg overflow unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
• Cardiovascular (CV) patient experience is a focus of this unit
• Team nursing model with a 1:12 patient ratio
• Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
• 36- or 48-hour weekly schedules available; schedule details may be discussed during interview
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Float between like units and campuses within 20 miles is possible, though cross-campus floating is rare
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Requirements

• Active RN license — Tennessee (TN) or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Cardiovascular nursing experience required
• ADN required at minimum for this position
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO cannot be approved after an offer has been made
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Vaccination status must be provided
