Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Step-Down/Med-Surg Overflow position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel experience.
Details
- Step-down and Med-Surg overflow unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center
- Cardiovascular (CV) patient experience is a focus of this unit
- Team nursing model with a 1:12 patient ratio
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- 36- or 48-hour weekly schedules available; schedule details may be discussed during interview
- On-call required as needed
- Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
- Float between like units and campuses within 20 miles is possible, though cross-campus floating is rare
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license — Tennessee (TN) or Compact (NLC) license required; no pending licensure accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
- At least 1 completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- Cardiovascular nursing experience required
- ADN required at minimum for this position
- Driver's License required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront — RTO cannot be approved after an offer has been made
- If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, the traveler must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be covered
- Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Vaccination status must be provided
