Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level III/IV NICU position requiring 2 years of relevant NICU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a Level III/IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting
- Care for neonates across gestational ages, including those less than 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and greater than 34 weeks
- Day shift schedule with 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 13-week assignment length
- Uses Epic charting system
- Floating required to PICU, CVPICU, stepdown, MS, ED (rare), and BPD NICU as needed
- May float to other campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital
- BPD NICU floats involve patients with average length of stay of 2-3 years, frequent trach care, and heavy parent involvement
Requirements
- Active RN license (OH State or Compact) in hand
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
- Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC required
- Experience with neonatal medications including anti-seizure meds, antibiotics, IV vasopressors, and surfactants required
- Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP) and various respiratory support methods required
- Experience with high-risk delivery attendance required
- Experience with neonatal abstinence syndrome and seizure disorder management required
- Experience with GI conditions including NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and tube feedings required
- Two supervisory/manager references required for consideration
- Cannot have worked in a permanent role for this health system within the last 2 years
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive NICU-level care including high-acuity respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurologic support
- Attend high-risk deliveries and provide immediate neonatal stabilization
- Manage complex cases including therapeutic hypothermia, VP shunts, and ECMO as needed
- Support families with breastfeeding and extensive parent education, particularly for long-stay BPD patients
- Two-part interview process including an initial screening with the Float Pool Leader and a second interview at the discretion of the NICU unit manager
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius as local candidates are not accepted for this position
- Floating to different units and campuses is a standard expectation for this assignment
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
