Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical/Surgical Ortho position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and ortho background.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center
• Medical/Surgical Ortho unit
• Team nursing ratios (details discussed during manager interview)
• Day shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Floating between like units and campuses within 20 miles may be required, though cross-campus floating is rare

Requirements

• Active TN or Compact RN license required (no pending licensure accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required; 3+ years preferred
• Orthopedic nursing experience required
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
• ADN or higher required
• Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; RTO requests made after an offer is extended will not be approved and must be arranged directly with the manager or scheduler
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall within the assignment period, travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked
• Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
