Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at an acute care hospital, requiring an active SC or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45a–7:15p)
  • Patient ratio of 1:5–6
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
  • Level III Trauma acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
  • Charting via Epic
  • Free parking on site

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must obtain active licensure prior to start
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Telemetry competency required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
  • Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed up front, as approval is based on facility needs
  • Required orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
  • Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
  • Royal blue scrubs required
