Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg-Tele position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of recent specialty experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Work in the Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit of a large, short-term acute care hospital
• Team nursing model with a 1:7 patient ratio, supported by PCC and other RN staff
• 13-week assignment on night shift (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block scheduling may be considered
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license in the state or NLC-compliant compact RN license required (no pending licensure accepted)
• TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg-Tele experience required; 3+ years preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• Required certifications: BLS; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, including at least one completed travel assignment
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a team nursing model in a Med/Surg-Tele unit
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; strict radius rule with no local candidates accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application, as post-offer RTO requests will not be honored
• If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must be willing to work 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
• Former permanent staff or travelers at this facility must have a one-year separation before becoming eligible for rehire
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
