Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Cardiac Med/Tele unit requiring 1+ year of recent inpatient cardiac telemetry experience.
Details
- Work on a 32-bed Cardiac Med/Telemetry intermediate care unit
- Patient population includes cardiac and med-surg patients
- Patient ratios vary by shift, estimated at 1:5-1:6 days and 1:6-1:8 nights
- Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, telemetry monitors, and lift equipment
- Uses EPIC EMR system
- Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Rotational floating required
- No on-call requirements
- Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available the entire orientation week
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for or currently held in Missouri (compact accepted)
- BLS certification from AHA required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (may submit without)
- 4 trauma credits required, or must be completed within first two weeks of start
- ACLS from AHA preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Cardiac Telemetry experience required
- Experience and competence in drug titration required
- No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinates patient care with ancillary departments and other care team members
- Maintains professional accountability and evaluates effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of shift, frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- Must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, pinch up to 15 lbs, and occasionally kneel, crouch, and crawl
- High-risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Scrub color required is black; torn clothing and open-toed shoes are not permitted
- Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1-April 1, with no declinations accepted
- Facility is a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center
- Up to 5 days of RTO allowed but must be made up during the assignment, not approved in the first week
- Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
- Local candidates accepted, though bill rate is reduced for those within 50 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered
