Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level IV trauma facility in Texas, requiring at least 1 year of ED experience and active TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

• 25-bed Emergency Department at a Level IV facility
• Patient population spans all age groups: neonate, infant, child, adolescent, young adult, adult, older adult, and geriatric
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule: 18:45–07:15
• Rotating weekends required

Requirements

• Active TX RN license or compact RN license with TX privileges required prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Required certifications (all must be AHA): BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• NRP (AHA/AAP) certification required
• Diploma or degree from an accredited nursing school required
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Two professional references required
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, coordinating care across disciplines, and executing physician and nursing orders
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Must demonstrate critical thinking and decisive judgment with the ability to work under minimal supervision in a high-stress environment
• Standard Precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
• CPI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) certification may be required — must be an 8-hour course, valid for 2 years
• Local candidates are accepted; however, a radius rule applies and candidates living within the radius may be subject to a different pay rate
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
