Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with home health experience for a 13-week travel contract providing in-home therapy services across a large geographic coverage area in Magic Valley, ID.
Details
- Home health setting serving patients across a wide geographic area, covering up to 60 miles east and west, approximately 60 miles north, and approximately 40 miles south to the ID/NV border
- Patient population is approximately 78% Medicare, primarily elderly adults with diagnoses including CVA, post-surgical orthopedic, rehab, and wounds (no lymphedema)
- Caseload of 4–6 patients per day; shifts may begin from home without requiring a stop at an office
- Responsibilities include initial admissions, care for existing patients, and recertifications, with a small number of Assisted Living patients
- Limited oxygen requirement cases are part of the caseload
- Uses Epic with a remote client offshoot; Epic experience is preferred
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM with no weekend or holiday requirements
- Multidisciplinary team meetings are held on Mondays and Wednesdays to discuss current admissions
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of post-graduate PT experience required
- Home health experience required; post-graduate home health experience preferred
- Orthopedic experience required
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required
- Valid driver's license required
- Active state PT license required if applicable (pending licensure not accepted)
- 2 professional references required for consideration: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Orientation includes Epic training classes and up to one week of shadowing with an experienced therapist
- Supervisors (Kelli) and a manager (Bryan) are available for support; no PTAs or rehab aides are assigned to the home health team
- Business casual attire or scrubs in any color are acceptable
- No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of the facility must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
