Description

American Traveler is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of adult outpatient experience for a 13-week outpatient rehab assignment in Juneau, Alaska.

Details

Outpatient physical therapy setting serving adult patients with a wide range of diagnoses and functional conditions
Works with both inpatient and outpatient populations in various settings as assigned
Schedule is 40 hours per week; shifts vary Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM–1:00 PM

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in adult outpatient rehab required
Entry-level qualifying master's or doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program required; or a master's or bachelor's degree from an APTA-approved program with 2 years of proven work and continuing education experience demonstrating doctoral-level competency
Active Alaska PT license required at time of consideration; license required if applicable
Current BLS certification required
Valid driver's license required
Flu vaccination required

Additional Information

Responsibilities include PT evaluations, treatment planning, and implementation across a wide range of diagnoses and patient needs
Oversees and directs the work of Physical Therapist Assistants, support staff, students, and interns
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members, referring providers, and care conferences to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
Develops and delivers patient and family education including home exercise programs with return demonstration
Assists with durable medical equipment (DME) acquisition, fitting, and delivery coordination
Maintains familiarity with billing procedures for Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers
Adheres to APTA regulatory and practice standards
Provides in-services, therapy consultations, and presentations to medical and interdisciplinary staff as assigned
