Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) travel assignment in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Pediatric ICU/PCICU setting within a 300-bed, Level I Trauma, teaching hospital and Stroke/Chest Pain Center
• Unit has 19–23 beds with an average daily census of 15–18 patients
• RN-to-patient ratio is 2:1
• Common diagnoses include respiratory conditions, congenital heart disease, hematology/oncology, post-op, and trauma cases
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• Holidays covered as needed by the unit
• Float required between PICU/PCICU, NICU, and General Pediatrics across two campuses (Oak Lawn and Park Ridge)
• EMR: Epic (experience noted)
• Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and MedSonic monitors
• No on-call or call-back requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• NRP highly preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PICU RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• At least 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN dated within the last year required for consideration
• Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

• CNA support available for admissions, discharges, and high-touch cleaning; additional support includes Receptionist, Charge Nurse, in-house Phlebotomy, IV Team, Resource Nurse, and Tele Tech
• RT, Hospitalist, and Intensivist available 24/7
• Orientation consists of NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation in the PICU
• Navy scrubs required
