Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a Sleep Diagnostic Center position in Elizabethtown, KY, working Monday–Friday days with no weekends or holidays.

• Sleep Diagnostic Center setting within a hospital system in Elizabethtown, KY
• Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, no weekends and no holidays
• Full-time schedule at 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day
• 13-week contract
• Sleep experience preferred
• Performs a wide range of respiratory therapy services including invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, medicated and non-medicated therapies, arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, oximetry monitoring, pulmonary function testing, and medical gas administration

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
• Valid Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care certification or Indiana Professional Licensing Agency respiratory license required — license required if applicable
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NRP required for candidates working with neonatal populations
• MM/DD of date of birth required for consideration
• Last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include critical and emergent care such as responding to code blue and rapid response events, airway management, and ventilator management
• General care duties include administering medicated and non-medicated therapies, oxygen therapy, patient assessment, and patient and family education
• Diagnostic responsibilities include pulmonary function testing, neurodiagnostic studies (e.g., EEG), cardiac testing (e.g., 12-lead EKG, Holter monitoring), and blood gas analysis
• Assists with advanced specialty procedures such as endotracheal tube insertion, arterial line placement, and bronchoscopy
• Documents patient assessments, therapies, and clinical information in the medical record
• Participates in quality improvement projects, departmental meetings, and ongoing facility processes
• Responsible for cleaning, preparing, and maintaining respiratory equipment and ensuring proper functioning of departmental analyzers
