Description
American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer for an outpatient imaging setting in Reno, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience and RDMS certification.
Details
- Outpatient imaging facility in Reno, NV
- Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures across general, vascular, and cardiac modalities
- Patient population ranges from infant through geriatric
- Procedures include general ultrasound, OB/GYN, breast imaging, paracentesis, thoracentesis, biopsy, vascular line placement, thrombin injection exams, and cardiac contrast studies
- Breast scan experience is preferred
- OBGYN and breast imaging experience preferred
- Epic EMR used; training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
- 3x12-hour shifts on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday; varied shifts, no call
- 36 hours per week
- Floating to other departments within competency level may be required
- One additional shift pick-up required during the schedule period
- Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts based on department needs
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of clinical ultrasound experience
- RDMS (ARDS) certification required
- AHA BLS required within 60 days of hire
- CPR certification required upon hire
- Proficiency with diagnostic ultrasound equipment and imaging systems
- Ability to perform exams on patients ranging from infant to geriatric
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Performs complex diagnostic ultrasound exams across cardiac, vascular, and general modalities per established protocols and physician orders
- Examinations may be performed in the ultrasound department or any other department or nursing floor as needed
- May mentor ultrasound students from CAAHEP-accredited programs, including instruction in protocols, equipment operation, and documentation
- Participates in accreditation and re-accreditation processes for each respective modality
- Responsible for maintaining and cleaning equipment and the lab, and meeting all governing body and accreditation requirements
- Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered
- A 13-week break is required before a returning traveler may begin a new contract at this facility
- Blocked scheduling is not permitted
- Requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed prior to consideration; the facility does not extend contracts to compensate for RTO
- Coverage for a minimum of 2 major holidays is required
- All assignments are 13-week contracts
