Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Advanced certification, Epic experience, and the ability to independently perform sterile vaginal exams.

Details

• Work setting is an acute care hospital with 320 staffed beds
• Labor & Delivery unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Must be able to independently perform sterile vaginal exams and triage without supervision
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Weekend requirement is every other weekend, with the possibility of exceeding that to meet unit needs
• Floating required to Mother Baby unit and potentially across all facilities within the state
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrubs are provided for L&D staff
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required — pending licenses will not be accepted
• Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience required; 2 years strongly preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (hard stop — must have a passing score)
• Demonstrated expert-level ability to independently perform sterile vaginal exams without supervision
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who were formerly permanent staff at a Providence facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Former permanent staff residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible to return as a traveler
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility should inquire about the local rate
• Refusal to float between facilities may result in termination of the assignment
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration — minimal RTO is strongly preferred
• Block scheduling requests may be considered at the manager's discretion; scheduling requests due to secondary employment will not be accommodated
