Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 Neonatal ICU position at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital in Oregon, requiring a BSN, active OR RN license, and a minimum of 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience.
Details
- 46-bed Level 4 NICU caring for critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns
- Patient admissions include internal high-risk perinatal transfers as well as transports from hospitals across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Hawaii
- Multidisciplinary specialist support available in endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, general pediatric surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00–19:30
- Weekend work is required
- Floating within the hospital is required; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
- No on-call requirements
- Charting is done in Epic; experience is required
- Block scheduling is not available
Requirements
- Active Oregon (OR) RN license required; pending license accepted if application has been submitted to and received by the licensing board
- BSN required
- Minimum 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience required
- Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required; charge RN references are not acceptable
Additional Information
- Nurses participate in the education of nursing students and pediatric residents as part of the hospital's academic teaching mission
- Hospital is a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center and academic teaching hospital with 549 staffed beds
- Scrubs are provided; no printed scrubs permitted
- COVID vaccination proof is required; no exemptions
- First-time travelers are considered with 3 or more years of NICU experience
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO is limited to 1 week maximum and must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- Former employees or previous travelers at this facility must have been away for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler; a reference from the supervising OHSU manager is required for returning candidates
