Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVICU position in Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience and active FL or Compact RN license.

Details

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
CVICU unit within a hospital setting, focused on open heart and cardiac-specific care
Patient ratio of 2:1
Float requirement on an as-needed basis
Holiday coverage required on an as-needed basis
Every other weekend (EOW) required
Epic EMR experience required
Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are considered

Requirements

Active FL or Compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required and must be in hand at time of consideration
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required and must be in hand at time of consideration
Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute and/or chronically ill patients
CVICU-specific experience required
Open heart and cardiac nursing experience required
Nursing degree from an accredited school, or from a Florida Board of Nursing (FBON)-approved institution with at least 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
Epic EMR experience required
Must successfully complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks, abuse registry review, and screening for disqualifying offenses

Proof of vaccination status required — declinations are not accepted
Pass/fail Basic Arrhythmia (EKG) assessment required; candidates who do not score 100% on lethal rhythms may be required to retake a dysrhythmia exam in Relias within 24 hours and must achieve an overall Angoff score of 83% or greater, 100% on the lethal rhythm section, and 83% on all other sections
A study guide and tips to help prepare for the arrhythmia assessment are available through the facility's online orientation portal
13-week assignment
