Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 1-2 years of MS/Tele experience.

Details

• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Part of a Resource Float Pool with allocation to a specific campus but potential to float to another campus within the health system
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call requirements apply, with either 2 on-call shifts or 2 additional shifts required per 6-week period
• Floating required within scope to other units and campuses as needed based on facility needs
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, must be obtained before start)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele experience required; candidates with 1+ year may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must be able to pass a cardiac arrhythmia and medication test on the first day of orientation
• Must be able to pass a fit test onsite, which may require shaving

• Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application, as RTO requests made afterward will not be considered
• Previous permanent staff of this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
• Attendance policy in effect: missing more than two shifts during the contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
