Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center with evening shift availability and a minimum of 2 years of emergency nursing experience required.

Details

  • Emergency Department (ED) in a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
  • Evening shift: 4x12-hour shifts, 1:00 PM – 1:30 AM
  • Patient ratios are typically 1:5–6 and may increase to 1:8 during high-volume periods and holidays
  • Weekend requirement: 3 weekends (Fri–Sun) per 4-week schedule, with 1–3 days worked per weekend
  • Floating to Pediatric ED is possible
  • Epic EMR used; training provided during orientation
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required (compact licenses not accepted; must be active by start date)
  • Required certifications: BLS (AHA preferred), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale
  • ENPC preferred
  • All certifications must be active and cannot be pending at contract start
  • Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Preferred experience includes continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation administration, and triage
  • Completion of pre-start online modules required; modules vary by specialty
  • Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning; eligibility should be verified prior to applying
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application; no additional RTO will be approved after submission, and no RTO is permitted in July
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO per assignment
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
