Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position in a hospital respiratory care services department, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• Inpatient hospital setting within the Respiratory Care Services Department
• Ventilatory care provided across the ED, ICU/CCU, PACU, and Level III nursery
• Responsibilities include cardiopulmonary evaluation, treatment of cardiopulmonary impairment, and care of patients with deficiencies or abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system
• Attendance at high-risk C-sections and high-risk deliveries to manage neonatal airway per Neonatal Protocol
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within the facility per scope of practice as needed
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• RRT credential required; CRT not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Active professional licensure required if applicable
• Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Travelers with prior history at any facility in this health system must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
• All care is provided under the supervision of a licensed physician
• Patient care decisions are based on patient assessment data and analysis of diagnostic information
• RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• No schedule change requests or alternate shift arrangements are permitted; the posted night shift is firm
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is expected prior to the start date
