Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift travel assignment at a Level 2 trauma, interventional stroke-certified facility with a Level 3 NICU, with a minimum of 1 year of experience and trauma experience required.

Details

• Level 2 trauma center that is also interventional stroke certified and home to a Level 3 NICU that serves as a regional transport resource
• Primarily adult respiratory therapy with exposure to pediatric intubated patients; patient population spans infants to geriatrics
• Procedures and responsibilities include non-invasive and conventional ventilation management, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, arterial line placement, arterial and capillary blood gases, oxygen management, and patient education
• EMR and unit systems include Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:30–07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within the facility and to a sister campus as needed
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active Georgia RRT license required; license required if applicable
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Trauma experience required
• Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred
• Copies of required certifications must be provided for consideration

• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Scrub color: Slate Gray
• RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO must be submitted and cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• Blackout dates apply for both night and day shifts — Night shift: June (total blackout), July 5–31, August 1–2; Day shift: June (total blackout), July 15–31, August 1–9
• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two and may request one holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities in this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• No scheduling change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm
