Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Charge RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at an acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of full-time charge RN experience and comfort with a 1:6 PCU-level patient ratio.

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a 210-bed acute care hospital
• Patient population typically requires PCU level of care
• Patient ratio of 1:6 required
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Block scheduling is not available
• Charting system: Meditech
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of full-time Charge RN experience required — no exceptions
• Experience and comfort with a 1:6 patient ratio and PCU-level patients required
• Candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• This is a Charge RN position — candidate will be working in a charge capacity every shift
• Orthopedic and total joint replacement nursing experience is strongly preferred
• Clinical orientation consists of mandatory shifts during the first week (approximately 36–40 hours)
• Must complete approximately 4 hours of online modules prior to the start date
• Any time off or scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application for consideration
• Holiday coverage is required: if 1–2 holidays fall within the assignment, traveler must work 1 holiday eve and 1 holiday; if 3 holidays fall within the assignment, traveler must work 1 holiday eve and 2 holidays
• Any color scrubs are acceptable
