Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro position at a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital, requiring a WV or Compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Details

• 26-bed Med/Surg Neuro unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital (COTH member) with 855 staffed beds
• Patient population includes CVA, TBI, Epidural and Subdural Hematoma, seizure disorders, spinal cord injuries, and an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Night shift, 7p-7a, available as 3x12 or 4x12 schedule (36hr or 48hr contract options)
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
• Floating within scope is required to meet facility needs
• Charting via Cerner
• Orientation is held every other week on Thursday
• Blocked schedule requests can be accommodated

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending RN license may be considered
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Driver's License and Social Security card required for consideration
• Candidates must complete a fit test using an approved mask prior to starting (candidates may need to travel up to 100 miles to complete the fit test)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31); medical exemption documentation from an allergist or physician accepted

• Former permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those within 75–99 miles may be submitted for facility approval
• Royal Blue or White scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking is available for travelers
• COVID vaccine is not required
