Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU Float position requiring Epic proficiency and the ability to float across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units.
Details
- Hospital-based position floating across all Med/Surg, Med/Surg Telemetry, and PCU units within the facility
- Patient population includes adults through geriatrics with all potential MS, MS/Tele, and PCU diagnoses
- Patient ratios are 1:4–5 on PCU and 1:5–6 on MS and MS/Tele units
- EMR system is Epic (required), with Pyxis and SBAR also in use
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Floating to multiple units is required
- Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license — GA or Compact license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must provide copies of all required certifications for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO may not be requested during the first week of assignment
- Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, and one holiday RTO request may be submitted for approval
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- No scheduling changes or alternate shift requests are permitted — the listed shift is firm
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are strongly preferred for consideration
