Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position working night shifts in a hospital setting, with Charge RN experience preferred and Epic proficiency required.

Details

• Hospital Med/Surg unit setting with 32 rooms and an average daily census of 29 patients
• Adult to geriatric patient population with a broad range of Med/Surg diagnoses
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Required skills include Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Nasal Cannula, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Chest Tubes, IV Starts, PICC Line Management, Blood Product Administration, and Feeding Tube Care and Management
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic proficiency required
• Charge RN experience preferred

• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two of them and may request one holiday off for approval
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• No scheduling changes or alternate shift requests are permitted — the posted night shift schedule is firm
• Compliance with all onboarding requirements must be completed on time; delays may push the start date back by two weeks due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
