Description

American Traveler is seeking a Sonographer with at least 2 years of experience and ARDMS certification for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center in Bangor, ME.

Details

  • Work in the Ultrasound department at a 411-bed Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center that serves approximately two-thirds of the state of Maine
  • Primary work location is the main campus, with possible rotation to an outpatient imaging center as needed
  • Adult patient population required; pediatric experience preferred
  • 40-hour variable shift schedule
  • Every other weekend required
  • Call rotation required; details discussed during manager interview
  • EMR: Cerner

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of sonography experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • ARDMS certification required — AB or OB credential required; both are preferred
  • Adult ultrasound experience required; pediatric experience preferred
  • Must have a valid compact or ME license if applicable
  • Full SSN, Driver's License, and copies of all certifications required for consideration
  • 2 references within the past year required, with at least one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Director (Charge acceptable; no peer references)
  • Candidates must have a permanent address 100+ miles south/southwest of the facility
  • Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers will be considered with a minimum of 2 years of employment experience
  • Supported by a Lead Tech and physician staff
  • Manager interview required
  • All RTO requests require manager approval
  • Flu vaccination required for clearance to start; medical exemptions only will be considered and are subject to facility approval committee review
  • Scrubs may be any solid professional color; facility-provided scrubs available if needed
  • Free parking on-site
  • Candidates residing 100+ miles north of the facility may be considered on a case-by-case basis with individual approval from facility nursing leadership
