Description

American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment at a rural acute care hospital, with a minimum of 1 year of experience required.

Details

• Rural acute care hospital setting
• Unit includes 26 Med/Surg beds, 5 ICU beds, and 20 ED beds
• Day shift schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
• No weekend shifts required
• EMR: Epic
• Support staff includes 2 PRN PTAs and a Rehab Tech

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Active PT license required if applicable
• New graduates with acute hospital clinical rotation experience will be considered

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluating patients using specialized testing procedures to assess strength, range of motion, coordination, perception, sensation, ambulation, transfers, bed mobility, and rehab potential
• Develops individualized PT plans of care aligned with short- and long-term goals
• Supervises PTA team members and meets regularly to discuss patient progress and goal-setting
• Documentation must adhere to APTA standards of care
• Applies evidence-based practice by incorporating current research to support clinical interventions
• Participates in department meetings, educational sessions, and scheduling adjustments as needed
