Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position on a 27-bed medical-surgical unit, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and at least 2 completed travel assignments.

Details

• 27-bed medical-surgical inpatient unit caring for a variety of medical and post-operative patients
• Patient population is primarily elderly adults, though patients may be as young as 18
• Common diagnoses include post-op ortho, general surgery, ETOH, CHF, and pneumonia
• RN-to-patient ratio is 5:1; LNA-to-patient ratio is 3:1
• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NH RN license or Compact RN license required; proof of state residency required for Compact license holders
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of equivalent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience within the last 2 years required
• Minimum of 2 completed travel assignments required
• Proficiency with post-surgical drains, central line care and maintenance, Foley insertion, G/J/NG/PEG tube management, IV medication administration and IV push, wound care, and O2 therapy
• 2 manager references required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
• Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse inpatient population including post-operative patients
