Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Operating Room position in New Jersey, requiring at least 1 year of OR experience and active NJ licensure.

Details

• Hospital-based Operating Room (OR) setting
• AM shift, 7a–8p, 12-hour days, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract
• On-call is required for this position
• Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required
• Epic EMR (experience expected)

Requirements

• Active NJ RN license (NJ or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or BSN) preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive pre- and post-operative patient assessments across the perioperative continuum of care
• Individualize surgical patient care based on procedure type and anesthesia, and evaluate patient understanding of surgical instructions
• Supports Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) by evaluating orders for appropriateness based on proposed surgery, patient age, and health status
• Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals including Universal Protocol and dual patient identifier verification
• Maintains accurate nursing documentation in accordance with established guidelines
• Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a break is required before returning to a new assignment
