Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 1+ years of experience and Allscripts charting experience for a hospital and clinic setting.
Details
- Work in a nuclear medicine department across hospital and clinic settings
- Adult patient population
- Includes nuclear cardiology procedures
- Performs SPECT imaging including bone and myocardial studies, exercise/rest single and multiple studies, and pharmacological stress testing
- Additional procedures include bone scans (3 phase, limited, whole body), gastric emptying studies, HIDA scans, thyroid studies, uptake scans, lung scans, and ventilation/perfusion studies
- Uses Siemens equipment
- Allscripts charting system experience required, Altera experience preferred
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No weekends unless part of scheduled shift
- No call requirements
- No floating required
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of experience required
- ARRT (N), BLS, and NMTCB certifications required
- Mandatory Reporter of Iowa certification required
- Community hospital experience required
- Experience with adult, clinic, hospital, and nuclear cardiology settings required
- Allscripts charting experience required
- Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE
- Experience with storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
- IA license or compact license required at time of consideration, license required if applicable
- At least 2 professional references within 3 years of start date
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures including cardiac, bone, thyroid, lung, and gastric studies
- Management or lead experience is a plus
- All required certifications must be obtained prior to start date
- No RTO permitted during the first week of contract
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former perm staff may return as travelers after a 6-month break
