Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/PCU position requiring telemetry competency, a minimum of 2 years of experience, and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a Neuro/PCU patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:4-5
- Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, with schedule options of 3x12s or 4x12s
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units or sister facilities, is required
- Charting is performed in Epic
- 97-bed hospital
Requirements
- Active RN license — SC state license or compact license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must have license in hand prior to start
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Telemetry competency required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Non-local candidates are prioritized; local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) are considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted upfront; no additional PTO will be approved after accepting the assignment
- Royal Blue scrubs required
- Parking is provided at no cost
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
