Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/PCU position requiring at least 2 years of experience, telemetry competency, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting with a Neuro/PCU focus
• Patient ratio of 1:4–5
• Schedule options of 3x12 or 4x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required
• Charting performed in Epic
• Free parking available on-site

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required prior to start; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry competency required
• SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted prior to acceptance of the assignment; no additional PTO will be approved after the assignment begins
• Pre-start orientation modules are required to be completed before the first day
• Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
• Scrub color required: Royal Blue
