Description
American Traveler is hiring an IR Technologist for a 13-week acute care assignment in Colorado, requiring 2+ years of experience and ARRT (R) certification with proficiency in interventional radiology procedures including embolizations, thrombectomies, and Y-90 treatments.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting in an Interventional Radiology unit with 2 procedure rooms
- Common procedures include port placements, CVC insertions, embolizations, thrombectomies, and Y-90 treatments
- Average of 2–8 studies per day
- Philips equipment used; PACS and Epic EMR
- May be required to float to the Cath Lab
- 4x10 hour day shifts; no self-scheduling, usually rotating day off
- Call requirements include approximately 4–5 weeknights per month, one weekend per month, and holiday call coverage
- 30-minute call response time required
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of IR Technologist experience required
- Active ARRT (R) certification required
- Active BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required; pending certifications not accepted
- Cath Lab experience is highly preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Active state license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted — license required if applicable
- Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility (driver's license used to confirm permanent address)
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform IR procedures including port placements, CVC insertions, embolizations, thrombectomies, and Y-90 treatments
- Department is led by a lead tech; IR Technologist reports to the Nurse Manager
- In-house radiologist on staff; no RRAs used
- Orientation is 12 hours; candidates must be in state for the week of orientation even if initial modules are remote
- Hospital blue scrubs provided
- Agency must provide traveler with a radiation badge
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered
