Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Windsor, VT, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience, prior travel nursing experience, and charge nurse experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a small community setting
- Average daily patient census of 22 with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4/5
- 12-hour night shifts, 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required; holiday coverage required as needed
- Uses Cerner EMR
- Floating required to Acute Rehab and any other unit within scope of practice
Requirements
- Active RN license — Vermont state license or Compact license required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Rehab RN experience required
- Charge RN experience required
- At least 3 months of prior travel nursing experience required
- BSN preferred
- Must have a personal vehicle — this location is a small community with no public transportation
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Current Med/Surg skills checklist (within the past year) required for consideration
- At least one supervisory-signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration
Additional Information
- Coordinates total nursing care for patients, including patient and family education
- May be asked to serve as a backup Charge Nurse
- Works cooperatively with ancillary and interdisciplinary team members to maintain professional nursing practice standards
- Block scheduling requests will not be accommodated
- All RTO requests (up to 5 days maximum) must be submitted upfront — requests made after an offer is extended may result in a rescinded offer
- A 3-strike call-off policy is enforced: after 3 call-offs, a contract may be terminated; each call-off must be reported to the unit supervisor at least 1.5 hours in advance
- Candidates currently working a concurrent permanent or travel assignment will not be considered
