Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma/Neuro ICU position in Ventura County requiring at least 3 years of experience, a CA RN license, and hands-on trauma and neuro ICU background.
Details
- Trauma/Neuro ICU setting within a hospital environment
- Patient population ranges from adolescents to geriatrics
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
- Schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Floating within the service line is required
- Charting is done in Cerner
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Trauma ICU and Neuro ICU experience both required — must be reflected in work history
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and TNCC or TCAR
- Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with multi-system organ failure, CVVHD/CRRT, and arterial line management
- Experience with ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), and post-neurosurgery care
- Experience with spinal cord injury and TBI management
- Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, vasoactive drip titration, and continuous/procedural sedation
- Experience with central line/PICC line care, blood product administration, and port access
- Experience with chest tube assist, wound vac, surgical wounds with drains, and suctioning (ETT/NT)
Additional Information
- The unit conducts extensive chart audits — strict accuracy and integrity in charting and assessments is critical
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Travel pairs will not be accepted
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
- All time off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
