Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical (Neuro/Neurosurgery) position in Michigan, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience and a rotating day/night schedule.
Details
- 48-bed Medical Surgical unit specializing in neurology and neurosurgery patients
- Patient diagnoses include brain and spinal cord tumors, epilepsy, stroke, cerebral aneurysm, neuropathy, Myasthenia Gravis, head and spinal cord trauma, and neuro oncology
- Unit includes 10 dedicated stroke beds and 10 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) beds
- Patient ratio is 1:4 on weekdays, nights, and weekends
- Rotating day and night shifts (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00), 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Requires 5 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to designated units required during low census periods
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
- 2 supervisory references required for consideration (charge nurse references not accepted)

- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Candidates who have been employed at this facility within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
- Flu vaccination is required; no exemptions (religious or medical) accepted — candidates with allergies must use the allergy-free vaccine option
- All time off and scheduling requests must be disclosed at the time of submission
