Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience, Epic proficiency, and availability to work every weekend on nights.
Details
- Work in a 24-bed adult Cardiovascular ICU (CVC 4) at an academic medical center
- Patient population includes post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery patients
- Specialized procedures include coronary artery bypass, heart and lung transplantation, heart valve repair, ventricular assist devices (VADs), esophageal procedures, carotid re-vascularization, and aneurysm repairs
- Patient ratio is 1:2
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Every weekend is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating to designated unit(s) may be required during low census
- Epic EMR experience is required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; BSN preferred
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; CVICU experience preferred
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- 2 supervisory references required for consideration (charge nurse references not accepted)
Additional Information
- Staff collaborate with the Advanced Practice Team and Resident Team, participating in patient/family conferences, care rounds, and referrals
- Involvement in research studies and quality assurance activities is expected
- Flu vaccination is required (no exemptions — religious or medical); candidates with a flu allergy must receive the allergy-free formulation
- Candidates who have been employed by this health system within the past 12 months are not eligible to apply
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- All time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration
