Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical - Neuro unit position requiring a MI RN license, at least 2 years of experience, and night shift availability.

Details

• 48-bed Medical Surgical Neuro unit within a large academic hospital setting
• Patient population includes neurology and neurosurgery diagnoses such as brain and spinal cord tumors, epilepsy, stroke, cerebral aneurysm, neuropathy, Myasthenia Gravis, head and spinal cord trauma, and neuro oncology
• Unit includes 10 dedicated stroke beds and 10 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) beds
• Patient ratio is 1:4 on weekdays, nights, and weekends
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00), totaling 36 hours per week
• 5 weekend shifts required per 4-week schedule
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to designated units expected during low census periods
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Prior Med/Surg Neuro or similar acute care nursing experience expected
• 2 supervisory references required for consideration (charge nurse references not accepted)

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
