Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with prior charge experience for an acute care hospital position working with adult and geriatric populations on a day shift schedule.
Details
- Acute care hospital OT unit serving adult and geriatric patients
- Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Caseload of approximately 8 patient visits per day
- Floating within the facility and within scope of practice may be required
- Weekend coverage may be required (1–2 days total over the course of the assignment)
- No on-call requirements
- EMR: Epic; SBAR communication framework used
Requirements
- Active OT licensure required (license required if applicable)
- Current BLS and NBCOT certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience, with at least 2 years in a hospital setting
- Previous charge experience in acute care OT required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Additional Information
- Scrub color options are eggplant purple or olive green (therapist's choice)
- RTO is capped at a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- Travelers are expected to work major holidays that fall within their assignment period; if three major holidays occur during the assignment, travelers are expected to work two of them, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Travelers who have previously worked at this facility system must have been away from all system facilities for a full year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests will be considered; the posted shift is firm
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time to avoid a two-week start date delay due to bi-weekly orientation scheduling
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above) are highly preferred; charge-level references are not accepted
