Description
American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with at least 2 years of experience and ARRT certification for a night shift travel contract, with familiarity across a wide range of MRI procedures and patient populations including adolescents through geriatrics.
Details
- Acute care hospital MRI department setting
- Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics; familiarity with neonates, infants, and pediatrics is preferred
- MRI procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral MR, spin echo images, surface coils, T1 and T2, and CINE; chest imaging and image post-processing experience are preferred
- Equipment includes GE and Siemens MRI systems
- Epic EMR is used for documentation
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Thursday through Saturday
- Floating between the orthopedic location and the main hospital is required
- Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of MRI technologist experience required
- Current BLS and ARRT certification required; license required if applicable
- Experience with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations required
- Proficiency in abdomen, pelvis, head and neck, spine, musculoskeletal, diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, peripheral MR, spin echo images, surface coils, T1 and T2, and CINE sequences
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references must be provided prior to start
Additional Information
- Orientation takes place during the first week, with hospital orientation classes held daily from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; full availability is required and missing any portion may result in a delayed or canceled start
- Approximately 8–10 hours of pre-start online modules are required and must be completed before the first day
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Candidates who previously worked at this facility or its affiliates as permanent, PRN, or EP staff must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- RTO is not permitted after booking and cannot be arranged on-site; any call-offs or additional RTO could result in contract cancellation
- No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved if it does not fall on a holiday
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a different rate
- Travel pairs are allowed but each must have their own transportation and be open to different schedules
